Nearby stalls sell handicrafts, Rivero Beach, known for its strong surf, the curving, sandy Grande Beach borders Santa Teresa National Park, marked by eucalyptus and pine groves and to the south the long Playa de la Viuda which terminates with the Punta Palmar lighthouse.
The village boasts supermarkets, bars, cafes and restaurants which are open year-round and a medical centre and chemist, all of which cater for everyday needs. A bus terminal houses the regular express bus services to Montevideo and other towns to both the south and north of Punta del Diablo. Chuy and Castillos, larger towns within 30km provide any additional services required.
